This groundbreaking program is designed to cultivate strength, enhance academic performance, and empower foster children to overcome any obstacles they may face, ensuring they receive the support necessary to excel in both school and life.
Foster children face unique challenges that can hinder their academic and personal development, including frequent moves, instability at home, and emotional trauma. Recognizing the critical need for consistent and positive adult influences in their lives, Fostering Hearts FL has developed a mentorship program that matches foster children with compassionate and dedicated mentors.
Statistics underscore the effectiveness of mentorship in transforming the lives of at-risk youth. Studies have shown that students with mentors are 52% less likely to skip a day of school and 37% less likely to skip a class. Furthermore, mentored youth are 46% less likely to start using illegal drugs and 27% less likely to start drinking. Most impressively, mentored at-risk youth are 76% more likely to aspire to enroll in and graduate from college compared to their peers without mentors.
